Interrupting Unconscious Bias
In this workshop, we will be diving into the definition of bias, why we have biases, and why prioritizing diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging is important. From this understanding, we will then explore the various ways that unconscious bias shows up in the workplace and the effects that has on employees and customers. Finally, we can then turn our attention towards action and learn about the ways we can interrupt bias both from an individual and organizational level.
The Three Learning Objectives for this Seshie are to:
-Understand the origins of bias and what we mean by “unconscious bias”
-Explore how unconscious bias shows up in the workplace
-Develop ways to interrupt unconscious bias, both personally and as an organization
