The path to Work/life begins with understanding professional and personal values and ends with great communication! This Seshie aims to provide individuals a safe space to think about new ways to implement and communicate around their values and help teams refine the way they think about delegation to avoid burnout. Let’s help each other become more balance humans at our companies, in our families, and in society!

My Background

I have worked from home since 2009 while raising four children with my wife. I began coaching in 2007, and I am an International Coach Federation credentialed leadership and executive coach with a lot of experience in cross-cultural communication. Our family lived in Cairo, Egypt, for some time in 2019-2020 while I led training courses for people who wanted to learn coaching skills, so I have spent about the same amount of time teaching people how to coach as I have spent doing 1:1 coaching.
I am vigilant about my own work/life balance and make sure to take time for exercise, rest, family. I am an entrepreneur who is part of the growing gig economy. I serve as a Seshie Guide as one of a variety of streams of income, so it would be possible (and is often tempting) to work constantly! I love to travel and I also write books; I have published novels, poetry, and books on leadership coaching.

The Setup For the Virtual Session

I generally set up in my home office and I do not like to use virtual backgrounds so you will see my bookshelf and artwork in the background. I use a variety of lighting scenarios depending on how much sunlight is or is not coming through my windows. I use a Blue Yeti microphone for really clear audio, and it is possible that you will occasionally hear a faint train whistle while I am speaking! There is a slight chance that a family member will interrupt me, and I will react graciously to them. My youngest child is now 11 so this doesn't happen as much as it did 5 years ago! If I need to run the Seshie from a different location I will tell you before finalizing the schedule.
